Introduces students to the practice of phlebotomy and the role of the phlebotomist as part of the healthcare team. Students will become familiar with phlebotomy equipment and learn about basic blood collection procedures. Students will identify medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to phlebotomy. Students will learn about specimen collection procedures, safety protocols, quality control, and regulatory compliance related to the role of a phlebotomist. This is an online course with embedded skills demonstrations to help prepare students for the in-person skills lab. 09/25/2023 - 12/09/2023
