Skills

This course leads students through a journey of developing personal skills and goal setting. It includes several self-discovery and reflection exercises to identify skills and interests that complement different careers. It develops communication skills, personal awareness skills, living skills such as wellness and money management, job search skills, interpersonal skills such as conflict resolution, and career management skills such as knowing rights and responsibilities in the workplace.

This course meets the learning outcomes for the EDCP: Career Planning course in the BC ABE Articulation Handbook at the provincial level, and can be used as an elective course towards a BC Adult Graduation Diploma. It is an open course to freely download and is available for organizations choosing to offer the course. It was sponsored in part by BCcampus Open Textbooks.
