This course introduces students to the fundamentals of sound design through a series of practical, hands-on activities. Students will gain an understanding of the skills, tools, and concepts used in the creation and synchronization of sound effects in modern visual media. Through a thorough introduction to sound recording, editing and mixing, audio manipulation, and electronic synthesis, this course will provide students with the knowledge and skills to create unique sound effects using industry standard software like Pro Tools, Propellerhead's Reason, Ableton Live, Native Instrument's Reaktor, and other sound design-specific software. 01/09/2020-03/19/2020 Lecture Thursday 03:00PM - 04:50PM, Niemeyer Center, Room N216
