Arborists are often asked to prune fruit trees that have been long neglected or haphazardly pruned without a clear philosophy. This class will equip participants with knowledge specific to fruit trees: common trained forms and pruning approaches, species-specific habits and challenges, and tactics to improve production of quality fruit. We will discuss how to interpret and approach client expectations and needs while prioritizing biology-based care, and opportunities for educating and partnering with clients. The day will consist of an indoor lecture, outdoor tour/demonstration on a site with diverse trees, and light hands-on practice in groups. 02/07/2020-02/07/2020 Lecture Friday 08:30AM - 03:20PM, Environmental Learning Center, Room ELCHALL
